A responsible, trustworthy, hardworking and experienced Housekeeper is required to manage and maintain a private country home.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for the general upkeep, cleanliness and day-to-day management of the property, including:
* Daily sweeping and cleaning of the compound and surrounding areas
* General cleaning and maintenance of the house, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
* Laundry, ironing and general household duties
* Cutting and arranging flowers and maintaining flower beds and other plants around the property
* Managing and maintaining economic trees and ensuring they are properly cared for
* Watering plants, flowers and trees as required
* Pumping water from the borehole using the pumping machine and ensuring the water supply is properly maintained
* Basic monitoring and proper handling of the borehole, water pump and other household equipment
* Keeping the compound neat, clean and well maintained at all times
* Clearing leaves, weeds and other debris from the compound
* Monitoring the general condition of the property and reporting any faults, damage or maintenance issues
* Looking after household equipment, tools and property items responsibly
* Ensuring the home is secure, tidy and properly maintained
* Assisting with other reasonable household and property-related duties as required
Requirements
* Previous experience as a housekeeper, caretaker, gardener or domestic worker is an advantage
* Must be honest, trustworthy, responsible and hardworking
* Must have a good understanding of cleanliness and general property maintenance
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Must be physically fit and comfortable carrying out outdoor duties
* Basic knowledge of operating a water pump/borehole machine is an advantage
* Good knowledge of caring for plants, flowers and economic trees is desirable
* Must be respectful, reliable and able to maintain confidentiality
* References may be requested
