Baobab Microfinance Bank Nigeria is recruiting qualified candidates for the position of Customer Service Officer within its Operations Department. The successful candidate will support branch operations, contribute to branch profitability, and provide prompt, professional, and efficient service to clients.

Responsibilities

Client Service

  • Represent Baobab Nigeria professionally at all times.
  • Attend to clients promptly, courteously, and professionally.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products and services.
  • Provide accurate information about available financial products.
  • Produce client identification cards where required.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and confidentiality.

Credit & Account Processing

  • Input credit applications, updates, and documentation into T24.
  • Prepare and print loan and legal documents.
  • Input CSR forms.
  • Produce daily operational reports.
  • Ensure accounts are appropriately funded based on Credit Committee instructions.
  • Maintain accurate customer and transaction records.

Till & Cash Management

  • Operate and maintain the branch till box in line with established procedures.
  • Handle cash-related responsibilities accurately.
  • Disburse loans correctly and efficiently.
  • Ensure all till and cash-management activities comply with internal controls.

Records & Administration

  • Maintain secure archives for branch legal documents.
  • Manage client photographs, signatures, and guarantor records.
  • Conduct regular inventories of branch assets and stock.
  • Identify repair, replacement, and replenishment needs.
  • Report maintenance and stock-related issues.
  • Perform other administrative duties assigned by management.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Experience in data or computer input, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Experience managing a till box.
  • Experience in logistics or stock management.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of stock management, mailing, and document archiving.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Good self-management and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Discipline, dynamism, and initiative.
  • Friendly and professional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Must currently reside in Kano or Ibadan, depending on the location applied for.
