Job Summary
She Code Africa is seeking a Partnerships and Grants Associate to support the Partnerships, Business Development, and Fundraising team. This role focuses on grant management, donor engagement, and fundraising initiatives to support the organization’s mission of closing the gender gap in tech.
Key Responsibilities
Research and identify grant and funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
Track grant calendars, deadlines, and submission requirements for timely applications
Support preparation and submission of grant proposals, concept notes, and expressions of interest
Co-lead development of grant proposals and donor reports under senior guidance
Maintain accurate records of submitted, approved, and declined grants
Track grant funding across the full funding lifecycle
Monitor compliance with grant agreements, reporting timelines, and donor requirements
Support post-award grant management, including documentation and reporting
Assist in developing fundraising proposals and pitch materials
Research and support identification of potential partners, donors, and sponsors
Maintain and update grants, partnerships, and funding opportunities database
Support relationship management with donors, funders, and partners
Prepare briefing notes, summaries, and internal updates on funding opportunities and grant status
Collaborate with programs, finance, and operations teams to gather required grant information
Ensure grant-related documentation is organized, accurate, and audit-ready
Availability for occasional local or international travel
Required Qualifications
- Open to female candidates residing in Lagos, Nigeria
- 2–3 years of experience in grants, partnerships, fundraising, research, or a related role
- Experience supporting grant applications, donor reporting, or fundraising initiatives
- Basic understanding of nonprofit funding cycles and donor compliance requirements
- Experience in mission-driven, nonprofit, or social impact organizations is an advantage
- Strong research skills to identify relevant grant and funding opportunities
- Excellent written communication skills for proposals, reports, and donor correspondence
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong organizational and documentation management skills
- Ability to track funding, reporting timelines, and compliance requirements accurately
- Comfortable working with databases, spreadsheets, and basic CRM or grant-tracking tools
- Strong stakeholder communication and relationship support skills
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with programs, finance, and operations teams
- Proactive, dependable, and able to work with guidance in a fast-paced environment
