Job Summary

She Code Africa is seeking a Social Media and Content Manager to drive the organization’s media presence, amplify its voice, and engage the community through compelling content and campaigns. This role supports the mission of closing the gender gap in tech for African girls and women.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and engagement
  2. Contribute to the execution of She Code Africa’s social media strategy
  3. Manage social media advertising campaigns and boosted content
  4. Engage with the She Code Africa community by responding to comments, inquiries, and messages
  5. Track and analyze social media performance metrics and produce monthly insight reports
  6. Build and maintain a content bank including testimonials, user stories, and behind-the-scenes footage
  7. Support campaign planning and execution to drive program participation and brand awareness
  8. Mentor social media associates and interns, ensuring content quality and alignment with brand voice
  9. Oversee social media analytics to refine content strategies and inform marketing decisions
  10. Build and maintain relationships with influencers, partners, and stakeholders to amplify reach
  11. Innovate and implement new content formats, engagement tactics, and growth strategies
  12. Collaborate with other teams to integrate social media into overall marketing strategies
  13. Stay updated on social media trends and best practices

Required Qualifications

  1. 2-3 years of experience managing social media and digital content for brands, nonprofits, or mission-driven organizations
  2. Proven experience executing campaigns across multiple platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok)
  3. Strong content creation skills, including copywriting and storytelling for digital audiences
  4. Experience managing social media ads and boosted content
  5. Strong understanding of social media analytics, insights, and reporting tools
  6. Ability to translate data into actionable recommendations
  7. Experience engaging and managing online communities
  8. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
  9. Comfortable mentoring junior team members or interns
  10. Strong collaboration and communication skills
  11. Availability for occasional local or international travel
  12. Alignment with She Code Africa’s mission and commitment to gender equity in tech
