The role is offered under a technical support contract and is based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
The company is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Planning Manager to join its project team in Nigeria.
The successful candidate will lead all planning and scheduling activities for a major Oil & Gas project.
The role involves ensuring timely execution, providing strategic planning oversight, and coordinating effectively with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
This position is critical to operational success and requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and the capacity to perform in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- The position we are offering involves the following main responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule across all project phases, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Lead schedule baselining and ensure compliance with planning procedures and change-control processes
- Monitor project progress, analyze deviations, and implement mitigation or recovery strategies
- Prepare weekly and monthly planning reports, KPIs, dashboards, and critical path updates
- Conduct schedule risk analysis and provide data-driven recommendations to project leadership
- Coordinate planning activities with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Lead planning review meetings and contribute to project-level decision-making
- Ensure accuracy of documentation for audits, claims, and contractual reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a Senior Planning or Project Controls role on large-scale Oil & Gas or EPC projects
- Strong communication, leadership, and team coordination skills
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Solid understanding of EPC workflows, procurement cycles, and construction sequencing
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, or AACE are considered an asset
- Experience working in Africa or remote environments is an added advantage
