Job Role

The Commissioning Technician (Expansion) is the owner of the Technical operations involved in the Expansion process into new sites.
The Commissioning Technician reports to the QA Tech Operations and works to ensure that our service locations have commissioning and installation of solar technical equipment completed to the pre-defined standards.

Accountabilities

  1. Own the technical commissioning process for our service locations by ensuring 100% compliance with the commissioning process.
  2. Own and manage all tech activities, equipment and tools used in the commissioning process for new sites.
  3. Own and audit the work completion per allocated site according to defined standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare a pre-departure checklist of required items, tools, and technical equipment for the commissioning of the allocated sites.
  2. Commission and install solar technical equipment at allocated sites by ensuring that all processes are carried out in accordance with the commissioning guidelines and documentation.
  3. Ensure proper setup of new sites in the Star App, Dashboard and Dataverse before handing the site over to the regional tech.
  4. Accurately file, respond to, update, and escalate technical issues in Gitlab.
  5. Remotely troubleshoot and resolve Hub performance issues pre-golive. Travel to Hubs to resolve issues requiring in-person troubleshooting/repairs, for sites still under Expansion.
  6. Ensure the availability of working Jaza packs for Go-live by checking charge rate.
  7. Ensure 100% connectivity at new sites.
  8. Keep accurate records of Hub/Shop Equipment and product component inventory during the commissioning phase.
  9. Test new products and firmware as needed.

Qualifications

  1. Background in Electrical/Electronics or any related field.
  2. Knowledge in electrical installation.
  3. Good data collection, analytical, reporting and communication skills.
  4. Ability to commit to high level quality standards.
  5. Ability to learn new technologies as required in the role.
  6. Ability to work independently, interact with people of different backgrounds, cultures, languages and to travel frequently to remote locations.
  7. PV system design and installation knowledge.
